Our Project

Every Bottle Back TT launched in April 2022 with a 6 km pilot across Port of Spain. Backed by CRSL and sponsored by Blue Waters, Caribbean Bottlers, Republic Bank, and Nestle, our aim is to capture 20% of all PET bottles by 2026, diverting them from landfills and waterways.

How/Why was it born?

Studies show that over 80% of plastic bottles in T&T never get collected. In response, local recyclers, NGOs and beverage producers joined forces to create an accessible, island-wide system—one that combines education, infrastructure and incentives to change both behaviour and outcomes.

How does it work?

We integrate four collection strategies:  Strategically-placed managed public Eco-bins/Barrels/Cage bins/Silo-bags, a centralized drop-off location, commercial host sites and an entrepreneur collection system; then consolidate at our Sorting Centre for bale preparation and onward sale (PET/aluminium cans) and local processing (HDPE/other plastics). Proceeds help fund ongoing operations, rewards disbursement, and community outreach.

  • 470 tonnes of material processed (Apr 2022–Aug 2025)
  • Over 4,000 depositors of diversified types
  • Launch of New Baling System locally
  • Average collection growth of 91% year-over-year

About Us

Container Recycling Services Ltd. (CRSL) is a locally owned company in Trinidad and Tobago responsible for managing the collection and recycling of bottles placed at ECO-Bins, the collection center on Charlotte Street, and working with other large residential and commercial businesses.
